Odd behavior......again

Ok, so one of my nvv newts exhibited a swimming frenzy a few weeks back and that seems to have died down (although he still does it from time to time). Now, the other newt is doing the same thing. He seems to try to burrow in one corner of the tank, then takes off like a rocket and almost propel himself out of the water. He ignores the out of water surfaces provided in the tank. What's worse, his appetite, one very healthy (he ate every day, live blackworms) is dwindling. I know newts don't have to eat everyday but all of this causes me concern. He seems to try and hide himself behind rocks and the filter which is new behavior. He appears healthy, although not as chunky as he was and he's very active. Any ideas??

I had a problem with my newt hiding behind the filter and not eating. It turned out the other male was being aggresive ,and was causing the problem. Try taking him out of the tank and observing him while he is alone.
