Nutrafin Aqua Plus Water Conditioner???

I just picked some of this up, after closure inspection found that is says ''coats to protect scales & fins'' .... it does not specify what it uses to accomplish this. Is this the same as a slime coat? I have read these are no good. Anyone have any insights, anyone use this?

I generally avoid the products that say they protect the slime coat (which is almost certainly the same as saying "coats to protect scales and fins"). But it isn't harmful.
