Notopthalmus sick/

I have not had great luck with my Notopthalmus. Bought them through one of the big biological supply companies(curious as to their origin?). Unfortunately, three escaped over a period of a few months. Thought i had them all sealed up but newts can be tricky.
2 of them stopped eating after being seemingly healthy for months.
I noticed the end of the tail gets dark and almost stubby looking before they really go downhill. My last lil guy in the tank seems fairly healthy but the end of the tail has been tipped with black for a couple weeks. He is still feeding but not sure how long he will last. Any ideas, help??

You need to give more details on how you're keeping them - water conditions, temperature, terrarium contents, food, etc.

I've got four of them myself. They also have eating issues. As John had said, what are their conditions?
