Here are my newly aquired Notophthalmus viridescens louisianensis. One of the females was gravid and laid about 20 fertile eggs. Here are some pics there are more in my album:

nice newts! mine quit being aquatic and went back to land, it was short lived...I had to make a new tank for them
 
Wow, beautiful newts. For a while now I've been wanting to raise efts to aquatic adults. One question though, how do you know when an eft is ready to be aquatic?
 
Other than them spending more time in the water portion the only other indication they are ready that I have noticed is when they reach adult size they will gradually change from the bright orange to a dull green. At least thats the case with N. v. viridescens.
