They're fast swimmers, so I figured they needed more room to swim.. I had this aqua-terrarium originally made for T. marmoratus, but they don't swim nearly as well as these Notophthalmus v.v. manage to.

On the land bridge in the back there'll be more leaf litter, cork tubes etc to provide hiding places.

5 for now, but I hope to breed them and there's plenty room left in that tank.

Hi Ester!

Nice setup! The notos will love it. I hope you have better luck with the iris than I, mine died

, but then I did not have a good light source either. Also, what is the plant in the left, rear of tank? It looks like something I have.

Thanks

Thanks, they do

They're everywhere, exploring, climbing, hanging out etc.

The plant in the back is moneywort/creeping jenny (Lysimachia nummularia).

I didn't add any irises.. but perhaps you mean the water hyacinth?

I have no clue if they'll survive. I plan to add some light source over the aquarium, but they do catch morning sunlight there.

This is a really cool set-up. I'm sure your newts will love it. I also enjoy seeing people spend extra time on set ups for there newts. I've owned dogs, cats, hamsters down to regular aquariums. I love newts and if I owned my own home I would have a room just for my newts. Good luck with the tank.
