Hi guys, i have three axolotls in what i'm pretty sure is a 50 litre tank.
one of them hasn't eaten in four days, so i checked the water and found the ammonia was a little high, so i did a half water change and another half water change the next day. the other two have not had any appetite change at all, they're more than happy to eat.
however, the one that stopped eating is still not touching her food even though the water is now fine. the temperature has been sitting just below 20 degrees and she is not lethargic at all.
she does come up for air quite a bit, but i don't think the oxygen in the water is low as the other two again are fine.
she also has no signs of infection.
if anyone could help me, i'm quite confused
thanks

What's your axolotl's regular diet? What was the last thing she ate? You'll probably be asked for your parameters and substrate so may as well post those up as well. =]

A 50 liter tank is too small for one axolotl, let alone 3! You'll need a bigger tank ASAP.

i alternate between earthworms and pellets. i was feeding them beef but ran out, and the petshop told me to feed them mealworms, but i stopped because i was told theyre not that good for them
the last thing she ate was beef, but stopped eating before i ran out of it.

Beef is not the best thing for them, but I understand you feeding her that if thats the only thing that would get eaten. Im doing the same myself. Are you able to separate her from the others for the time being for some "time out"?

i thought about giving her a salt water bath the other day just incase she had an infection, and when i checked on her this morning i noticed a tiny white ball on her gills so i guess i was right :)
ill give her salt water baths until it goes away

how long after she is better can i expect her to still not eat? or should she start eating again straight away?
