So we went up to Northern CA this weekend(same spot as last November) and I managed to squeeze in around 1.5 hours exploring time. I think I wasted most of it following a timber/rock filled creek around which there seemed to be no salamanders(might have been nice habitat for Dicampton though). Having no luck there after an hour or so decided to switch and head away from the water. The bratachoseps began reappearing and near the end I managed to find a small ensatina under a log alongside a slender salamander.
Nowhere near as big as the one I saw the first time, but either way it was a very welcome site!
Slender salamander(Bratachoseps...don't know species)

Moving a piece of bark revealed this one in an upside down pose.
This group came from the same log. One of them(out of focus) had more yellow and bluish color as opposed to the normal brown.
And now for the Ensatina. This one is a juvenile, but the adult I found in this area showed the same patterning.
The slender and Ensatina found under the same log.
Just for an idea of how small this critter was.
Hope you like seeing them as much as I did finding them
