Nitrite is a bit up...maybe 1or a bit higher...not as far as 2. We are due to go away this evening till Sunday evening...

Should i do a partial water change and retest before i leave. It is a 75 litre tank so if i do need water change how many liters do you recommend. (I usually do it in multiples of 10 litres as it makes it easier to declorinate accurately).

I have 2 juveniles in there along with plants snails and invertebrates

It depends how long you have been running the tank for but assuming the tank is just beginning to cycle and the ammonia is not sky high I would just do a 10L water change, and not bother checking until Sunday.

Don't overfeed before going away, a large quantity of regurgitated food lying in the tank while you are away is the last thing you need.

If you are using a sand substrate put a dish in the bottom of the tank and drop some live white worms on it they will stay alive for a couple of days without fouling the tank, if your tank is bare bottomed just chuck them in. White worms are prone to burrowing into sand and the axolotls cant get them, just remember no to use them as the sole source of food but as part of a mixed diet.

Thank you, I changed about 50% in the end and put live white worm on bare bottom tank...fingers crossed all will be ok when I check tomorrow!
