What should I do? seem like a greyish layer overlay it's eyes. It has not been eating for more than a month... I want to do something for it.

Hi, I really need some help. I have posted here in another thread for this newt a while back. But none of my posts have been answered. Please help that little newt.

If it were an infection, it would have gotten worse by this time. I have seen newts get cloudy eyes when they were fed too many waxworms (too much fat in diet). Sometimes the eyes will get cloudy before shedding, then clear up after shedding.

What species is it? What have you tried to feed it? Is it staying in water or on land?

It is a Chinese Fire Belly.
I used to feed it frozen blood worm and dried daphia. Ever since that it started to become very secretive and fled away when I hand feed it, I think it has rarely eat for two months already.

During the two months, I have introduced feeding chopped live earthworm, it accepted the first meal. But refused since then. So I relocated it to a small tank. Then tried live Cricket as well. But still no good.

It stayed in water all the time. it still move around pretty well and active. Just not taking food. I noticed that it skin became rougher and the white markings became much more visible like the other bigger adults I have. The skin became shiny also.

I dont know if I should try medicine. I have tried salt bath today. But what if it has nothing to do with bacteria but just a simple passive stage of it growth?? Medicine will only make it more stress, isn't it?

very unlikely that this is a "stage". Keep trying the salt, did the newt shed?

If the newt is aquatic but won't eat, it's hard to say what you should do. Keep trying to get it to feed. I wouldn't worry too much about the eyes if they are not getting worse. The non-eating is more of a problem.

It is now rest in peace but thanks a lot for those who helped.

oh im so sorry, but I had the feeling that he/she wouldn't make it. I had 2 pass this month sad sad sad
