I know daily water changes are a must with newt larvae, but they seem so delicate I have no idea how to actually change their water. My first larvae hatched last night and I want to move him but am afraid of hurting or stressing him in the process. Anyone want to share their methods of performing water changes in a way that will not stress or harm the newt larvae?

I use water from the adults tank, some larvae seem to do best with aged water rather than dechlorinated tap water for some reason.

How to do it... depends on what kind of container or tank it is in.

I prefer to raise larvae in "old" tanks with live plants and established microfauna. In this case, very little water change is needed.

When I raise them in "new" containers, I use plastic ice cream tubs initially. To change the water, I take a fresh tub, add some water. Then I take the tub with the larvae and pour out as much water as possible. Then I quickly POUR the remaining water and larvae into the fresh container.

It's also possible to move the larvae to a fresh container using a turkey baster.
