I am in the process of building my newt a new setup, and i have placed him in a tupperware container with ventalation and wet paper towels in the refridgerator as i have read some people here have done so. How long is it ok to keep him in there? I keep taking him out every now and then cuz im worried it might get too cold

How long until the tank is ready? As an alternative, you could keep the newt in a larger plastic tub with the usual land or water that it is accustomed to.

It should be OK in the fridge, but the dangers are that the towels could dry out, or if your fridge has cold spots, it could freeze.

I think that it may be a little dangerous depending on how cold the firdge is. They can drop pretty low but im not sure if the newt likes to be held at 40 degrees...
