Newt Eye problem?

Hey guys! Hope you're all doing well.

I need help with the smaller of my two T. grans. They're both doing extremely well with me here at college and their temperatures are usually perfect (50's and 60's F). The smaller of the two has one eye that does not have hardly any of the metallic reflective tissue(?) he has in his other eye. It makes me worry because I could swear he used to have it when I got him last spring. Also, 4 months ago he developed this little "poof"..almost like a small mass on the underside of his mouth (orange part). It does not seem to bother him at all and besides the mass and the lack of reflective tissue he's completely normal (eating, swimming, shedding, etc.) The first picture is of him where you can see the "mass" and the second is just for fun

Mine also has this mass. When I took one of them to the vet for an abscess treatment, he told me that it didn't look suspect, but I should keep an eye on it. After keeping an eye on it for the better part of a couple months, it hasn't changed. I'm not sure if it's normal, but now that others have the same lumps, I think maybe it is.

With the eye and the reflective tissue, I don't know. He's still eating normally, so I would say that it's not something that's bothering him, but I can't be sure.

Thanks, that's really interesting that yours has a mass too. Hopefully it's nothing.

As far as the eye problem, it isn't cloudy or sunken in so I'm hoping that isn't anything to worry about either but if anyone has any comments or suggestions, please let me know
