Newt exercise?

Is it ok to let my newt walk around outside his terrarium? My my boyfriend and I took him out of his area once so we could pick a proper pool for him and ever since its like he realized there was a world outside his glass cage.

So we've been letting him roam around the room...I know they're very sensitive to their environment, but he seems to enjoy it.

Not a good idea.
The skin will dry out fast, and once it does, it will be easily harmed. Plus it can absorb oils from your hands or other surfaces, dust will get stuck to it, etc.
And basically, they don´t need nor like contact, it causes unnecessary stress.

I know it can be a bit frustrating to have an animal which you can´t interact with, but hey, these are no mammals...
