I think otterwoman will know about it soon enough :) The beer afterall, has "Finest Pale Maris Otter Malt" blended in !!!
Too funny.

Wow, though, it looks more like a hellbender than a newt to me. Maybe that's what newts turn into after they drink it.

You people are silly! (and I'm not!)

Can't keep anything from me! Where's the otter though?

I took a look at the website for the beer manufacturer and found your otter there, in thier lovely description of how they make the newt beer.

Also, kind of off topic, here's a link to another beer manufacturer. Just for you Otterwoman!

I just clicked on thier "specialty beers" - hilarious

I want one of those glasses on their site!!!
One of their beers is "otter-head"...in Japanese mythology, supposedly, an "otter-head" is someone that's forgetful. That's what happens when you drink too much.
There's a microbrewery not far from here called "The Guilded Otter"...needless to say I have some of their glasses/tshirts. There's also an Otter Creek Brewery in a neighboring state...Vermont, I think. I did some mail-order with them. What's with otters and alcohol?

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Mark

There are a few pubs in Bristol which serve the Otter range on tap. It's brewed in Devon, just south of us.
I will be on the lookout for beer mats, glasses and other freebie otter paraphernalia for you Dawn. They sell it bottled in my local store but I don't think the postage would justify the shipping to the US.

By the way - the Golden Newt tasted great.

I wouldn´t drink it if i were you xD
The label is disturbing xD The newt part is funny but harmless...but the name..elgood?, in my experience names that mix english and spanish are a sign that something is not adecuate for human use xDDD And those colours...that "i made it with my computer" look.......wow....

I think Elgood is the brewery name, not as "the good" as in some mish-mash. Most microbrews tend to have horrendous labels, it is part of the charm. Would you rather drink beer by a guy who is concerned with graphic design or the best mix of hops, etc?

A bottle of Golden Newt would look great next to my (empty) bottle of Black Toad :D

This thread is conjuring up memories of "hobu" sake and a good many other liquors that had various , snakes, lizards, and salamanders in them during my sailor days in SE Asia.

Also jogged my hazy memories of the Salamander Tavern Salamander Bay, New South Wales, Australia.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
