Hi guys, my friend recently gave out axolotl eggs so I decided to try and raise a few. Skip to now, I have like 30 larvae who are 4-5 days old each. I raised lots of bbs and fed to them (bbs are all fresh and alive) but they just won't eat ughhhhhhhhh! They are old enough to start eating and I don't see any yolks left. Occasionly they randomly leap forward but I don't think they're eating as I see no fat bellies. I'm starting to get really worried does anyone know what's going on???

They are probably just eating. In the beginning they won't eat an amount that great to give them a fat belly. That leaping forward, which you describe, means they're definitely picking something out of the water.

Exact.
Newborn caudates begin to eat after their yolk is exhausted, but at the beginning their stomach is not yet formed. It will grow with the afflux of food.

Okay awesome! I'm starting to see their orange/pink adorable bellies. More problems though...so the majority of the babies have hatched but some haven't yet...She gave me like forty-ish so as of now forty have hatched but the rest (5 or 6) aren't hatching. They are all developed well and squirming, but it's been more than 20 days and they won't hatch...should I tear the egg to free them or wait? Cause they're starting to grow really big in the egg and I'm scared they'll starve in there...Also question two is it okay if a bit of brine shrimp eggs went into the tank? I accidently mixed some in and I'm worried that the babies won't digest them.

Thanks so much for the replies guys!
