Hi, I'm new to this forum. My name is Cory, and I currently own a few newts, and some dart frogs. I'm not sure where would be appropriate to post my question, so feel free to move it, mods, if it needs to be moved.

My question is, I have a friend out-of-state who is interested in some taricha granulosa. I live in oregon. Someone told me it's illegal to give these to people out of state, someone else told me it's illegal to even own them at all, and I've heard from a few people that you can send your own pet t. granulosa to someone else as a gift no problem.

Does anyone know more about the rules/laws surrounding this species?

I will move this to the newt help section of the forum.

To get real answers that are up to date (as opposed to answers you might get on an internet forum), you should call California fish & game. It's usually fairly easy to find most state's F&G contact information by googling.
