Newbie needs help, feeding/ID

Hi there,

I just bought a "Californian Salamander" 2 days ago and was wondering the real name. It is aquatic, looks very close to a Japanese Fire belly, but was labeled as a Californian Salamander. I also wonder what to feed it. I tried small chunks of shrimps and blood worms with little success. Thanks for your help

Take a look at the data sheets at Caudate Central. That may help in identifying. I don't know anything about the feeding of true salamanders, so I can't help you there.

Californian Salamander? Does it have an orange belly? or a red flame like one? Smooth skin or rough?
