Gomez the Axolotl in another video! Got a few vids of him swimming about this morning and thought id share em. He's in a bigger tank since his last video and enjoying the extra space I know he's abit on the chunky side, hes now got abit of space to do a few lengths and burn off abit of chub! just watch him try and squeeze through his hoops!
haha fatty!

Thanks for all your comments on the previous video, ive passed them all on to Gomez and he wishes he could give you all a big slimey hug!

Enjoy!

Great video! I don't think he is fat, he looks quite normal sized to me. The going through the rings shot was sweet.

totally awesome.

I hope mine gets the confidence like this.

He`s cute. Looks like he`s really enjoying his life;)

when does the guppy get to be eaten?

Ha yes the guppy he's a persistent little bugger, hes one of 6 i put in the tank bout 4months ago, 5 were eaten within an hour! hes the lucky survivor he's learnt how close he can get and how quick he has to be, and he does get really bloody close! Have literately just taken the lucky guppy out of the tank into a tank of females to breed (hes havin a whale of a time!) when they're done il put him and a few more back in for gomez to munch while i raise the fry, (see if the little fella survives again!) il try and get some fishy munching footage, he caught a mountain minnow last night but couldnt get the camera quick enough!

He is a beautiful axolotl, and the tank is really nice too. Out of curiosity, how many gallons is that tank? I am looking into purchasing an axolotl, but I want to make sure that if I do, I get a good sized tank with generous room. How many inches long is Gomez?

Yo the tank is 36in long 18in wide 15in tall and gomez is bout 10inches (not sure bout gallons) i did have him in a 2ft x 1ft tank which was fine when he was smaller but he looked pretty cramped when he got bout 8-9inches (I have my old tank set up with guppys and side by side it looks tiny, i cant belive gomez lived in there!) but on the other hand my tank is on the large side for one axolotl Gomez doesnt mind he loves the space just most people on here seem to have more than one in a tank this size, but means I can get another one when the time is right, I'd go for the biggest you can afford (to be honest i diddnt expect gomez to grow 4-5inches in 3months, thought i may have at least a year between tanks) 3ft will do you fine for 1or2adults to be comfortable but if your planning on more in the future and have the space 4ft is what your after!

noooo,

man you'd be distraught if you put another Axie in there and the dopey dudes have a fight and his gills got torn off.

I'd leave Gomez be, it's his crib, let him lord about in the vast expanse chasing down all the crickets he can.

He doesn't need a tank mate, lets be honest, how many hours of the day do you spend sat with him :) ?

How you doing with temps in that big old tank? you just leaving the guppy tank at ambient?

Great vid!! What lighting do you use?

Yo cheers, lighting is interpet blue moon actinic moonlight tis nice and dim, cool blue light for night viewing but i use it all the time.

Daz its bloody hot at the mo where I where I am but the tanks managed to float around the 20deg mark maybe a degree either way which is more than the 16-18 i was getting. Also know what you mean about another axie it'll mean il probably end up getting an even bigger tank as well. Now ive got used to the size of this one It doesnt seem as big as it did at first and gomez has grown another inch since i put him in there still a nice amount of space the 18inch width is nice really adds to the space!

Yeah guppys are at room temp at the mo got no heating for em but ive had em at 16deg and they were fine il just put a fan on em if they get too hot!
