I recently got three fire bellied toads. Two males and one female that is probably gravid. The two males have been eating fine but I cannot get the female to eat.Is she not eating because she is gravid? If not any tips on how to get her to eat?I have tried superworms, crickets, Frog pellets and reptile/amphibian pellets and none of these have worked. If anybody has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you recently got her give her some time to adjust. One of my new ones stayed hidden and wouldn't eat for close to 2 months. He was thin when he emerged but is now a good size. Her being gravid wouldn't matter but her being harassed by the other males wouldn't.

Look for signs of bullying. If there isn't any then just give her some time to adjust.

She isn't being bothered by the others. She actually ate today but she isn't eating as much as the two males are so I'm still worried.

It could be how they worked out the heiarchy (why can't I spell this word?) of the tank. If you watch you should be able to see which is the dominant, who comes second, and then third. I have 10 in my tank and you can definitely see who the last ones to eat are (they stay in the water until everyone else eats). You can try adding more to make sure she gets a good amount to eat. Or she could just not be hungry.

Good Luck!

When I first got my four one of them immediately ran into the shelter and didn't leave for 2 weeks or so, only eating what crickets were dumb enough to wander inside. he never even made the trip to the water bowl. Eventually he got over his "stage fright" and now he's as active/normal as the other 3
