I had my boyfriend get me a Taricha Granulosa about a month ago for my daughter, turned out it was a pregnant female and now we have a tank full of tadpoles that are around 2-3 weeks old now. They are just starting to swim around and are hanging out towards the top of the water now more. I couldnt find a lot of information on the 'net so I joined this group to learn more

1st try to separate them from the parent tank. When newts and salamanders reproduce their offspring are called larvae, or in a singular form its larva. Those larvae look like they can take chopped blackworms now. If blackworms are too big then use baby brine shrimp or daphnia. Don't over feed that can foul the water easily and you can lose some larvae like that. At this stage of their lives they may try to eat anything that moves. Avoid injury by providing enough space for the larvae. If you have the resource to put every larvae into its own container or tupperware that would be best. Change water 2 days after every feeding and watch them grow!

What crazy luck! The babies look great, as other members have mentioned chopped blackworms are a great food for larvae and provide all of the necessary nutrition. Congratulations on your little guys.
