hi
i just have some questions out of curiousity. how many eggs do axolotles lay? i read that they can have up to 500! do all the babies survive to adulthood and how long before they grow up?

Axolotls should lay between about 300 to 1200 eggs. Providing clean water, plenty of room to grow and lots of tiny livefood should ensure a good survival rate. Axolotl can become sexually mature in as little as 6 months but I would say about 1 year is about the length of time it takes from egg to adult.
