This is my one week old 10 gallon tank for my to juvie axies. Will be upgrading to 20 gallonblong when they are bigger. Any advice for appearance and maintenance is welcomed.

Might be a bit nit picky but I have a similar hang on back filter and have found if I fill my ten gallon up more like all the way to the trim the current is dramatically lessened and my babies seem less stressed by it. Also the sand looks a bit deep and can lead to noxious gas build up which can be bad for axolotls . I find a 1/4 inch is better for this issue as well as keeping waste from getting buried . And as a last note I would humbly suggest starting your search for a bigger tank immediately. I bought my babies in a rush and now I'm scrambling to cycle my bigger tank because they grew sooooo quick! Other than that it looks awesome ! I put a piece of drift wood in mine slant ways and it really seems to help them climb to the top for air .

I would stir the sand up during your weekly water changes to prevent noxious gas build up. They do grow quickly as Birdsong said so it would be beneficial to upgrade to a larger tank as soon as you can.

Very nice setup :)

Also just as a tip, with a hood on there you might find that in the summer it gets a little too hot, when you upgrade you might want to get like a screen/mesh lid instead of a hood to help keep the temp down :)
