Hi guys
got my new tank setup and thought id'e put some piccies up to c what u recon ?
its 5 foot long x 20" high "about 300lt"
going to get rid of the rock when i can afford too and get a huge bit of driftwood i'm after that should go about 3/4 of the length of the tank and about the same high.i'm not going to go so heavy with the planting this time, just need some more backdrop plants and thats it. all the plants in there are from my other tank and gave a few away

i really need to upgrade my lighting now too, as u can c in one of the pics

my next job now is to find a few more axies with charicter, been looking out for more the last few weeks but can only seem to find whites and golds.
i'm thinking maybe 6-7 axies total for this tank

great tank rob, well done, but do you ever have a tank that never looks good, ha ha. do you have the chiller from the other tank running on this one. how does it cope with 300ltre cause when i bought mine i was told that it is really only suited to 250ltre tank

oh and i forgot to say that that is a huge tank and your axies look so little in it but i bet they love the space

Thx Denise

lol
yep i'm using the same chiller
sad.gif
"for now" it is struggling though, today it got too 32c outside and chiller is on 20.5c but running continuously.
although also having to use my old filter cause the new fluval i brought for the tank has a defect in the cannister and leaks @ the bottom. so i'm hopping the increased water flow will maybe help when my new cannister arrives "tomorrow hopefully"
if not will have to sell the chiller and get a bigger one
sad.gif
i cleaned my chiller a cpl of weeks ago cause it wasnt cooling as good as it was and was supprised at all the dust in it "have u done ur's yet" if not just take the cover off when u do it and use a hair dryer to blow from the back of the radiator, i got heaps of dust out of mine

and made a big difference.
only put the axies in last night so i think there still a bit freaked out hehe, they spent the first few hrs huddled in the same corner, but now starting to explore a bit

the tank looks fantastic nice to see such a big tank too, was at a couple of aquarium stores today and the axies all looked miserable , overcrowded and the tank looked dirty

cheers

thx Sarah, i'm very happy with the size now
happy.gif

i see some terrible conditions for axies in various pet/aquarium stores in my travels, but now i have more room i will at least be able to save a few more
happy.gif

rob how do i take the cover off cause i will have to clean mine out for sure, if i take the cover off do i void the warranty at all

Rob, it looks fantastic!

I really like the rock, I think it brings in so much vibrance, but good luck with the driftwood!
happy.gif
Either way it will look just wonderful.

Excellent Rob ,plenty of room for the axys and plenty of room for when they get bigger.

Denise, just take all the silver screws out with a philips head screw driver, theres 8 in total 3 each side and two at the front.
there is also one hidden under the sticker to the left of the on off switch. the cover just lifts up and to the side "be careful of the wiring attached"
i cant see it voiding ur warranty as they say to clean it once a mth in the instructions and this is the only way u can do it properly...

thx Rheann and Axel
happy.gif

maybe i will leave the rock in then ? and just add some driftwood too, will have to c what i can find ? going to do a java moss wall next right across the back wall hopefully start that this week, have to buy some more java moss first cause i gave mine all away

Well at least you know what your after, it would be a lot harder if your were starting from scratch, and had no idea what you were looking for.
