Hi everyone,

I am considering getting a new tank for my axy. Now the one he/she is in is really bare apart from a couple of hides. I removed the gravel due to impaction, removed live plants as lights where upsetting axy, and also no longer have plastic plants in as these tore at his/her tail slightly. So my question is any cool ideas for the new setup. I found some silicone/rubber plants in my local pet store so am hoping they will not only brighten up the tank but will also be safe for my axy. I also was thinking of fabric flowers but am unsure as these have lead weights to hold them down:confused:. also I need flooring ideas ie slate pieces etc.

I am only asking as there seems to be different ways people decorate their tanks and I need some inspiration:confused:.

Cheers for reading people and have a good day/night.

its a hard one heh :)

heres how mine is set up, I have a mixture of real & plastic plants which seem to work fine, have sand as substrate and 3 hides for 3 axies :) I have also used a 3d background which I love the look of.

Anyway hope that helps & good luck :)

Try some silk plants. I had same problem with real plants but havnt had any problems with plastic ones the ones i have are all pretty soft. Silk are good ive got loads of them and the axies are always rummaging through them!

Driftwood, sand or tile as a substrate, and get plants like java fern, java moss, or anubias...all will do fine in low light and low temps. If the light is bothering the axies, just provide places to hide...the drftwood would do that well.
