I have a new tank its just over 3ft long, just over 1ft high and wide. How many adult axies could live together comfortably in this tank? Thanks.

Comfortably, two adults.

:D
Just as kapo said only 2 axies
With only such a small tank ,make sure you do daily clean ups of old food and poo extra.
all will be good ,just ask any questions,
regards/Catherine.

What size tanks do you all have?? I thought this one was huge lol. I'm sure I have measured it right...hang on....okay 37" length and 15" high...is it really that small:confused:, oh thats in inches.

You do have a good sized tank there but I would be hesitant to call it huge, but that is me. I regularly drool over 300+ gallon tanks.

You have to think about two full grown axies in a tank that size also. They can pretty easily reach a foot long and two animals of that size are going to produce a lot of waste and need quite a bit of space. They will be nearly as long as the aquarium is wide and it will be three axolotls long which doesn't sound like too much. Then you have to put hides and other decorations in there decreasing the water volume and usable floor space.

I'm with Abrahm here. My local aquarium has a setup the size of a large wading pool (maybe 6 feet long by 3 feet wide by 3 feet deep). THAT is a big aquarium.

Liken it to a studio apartment. It may be a good size for you and a partner. But if you start putting more people in there, you have to figure out where they're going to sleep, where their stuff is going to go, a bathroom schedule, etc. You have to have enough space for all the life requirements of the critters, especially places to hide.

Thanks for putting it that way, makes so much sense. So I will just raise two Axies in my big tank and put the others into separate tanks of their own. My other tanks are 65cm long and probably about the same high so they should be good enough for one Axie each.

I think I have been in the same situation as you, I was quite adamant that We didn't need to move home..we have atiny house with2 adults/ 3 kids etc. But now we have the axolotl gang I want to find somewhere bigger, so I can keep more axolotl etc..priorities have changed!!!

lol yes I know what you mean but....luckly we have a big old house, my husband makes tanks :D and I do have a lot of room for the Axo gang...they are so special to me now, doesn't take long to get attached to them! Mine are all young at the moment, we have 6 Axies. Wildtypes and white with black eyes, they are so cute lol.
