Hello
I have two albino axolotl and I want to move them to a other and bigger tank
and I have a few questions

First one how many watt lambs do you need for a tank for 120 cm length?

Second one what kind of pump or filter can I use?

Third one what kind of ground dekking can I best use? I'm using now stones not so big but also not so small they can't swallow it or something

Fourth one what kind of plants can you use? Cause I want diffrent kind of plants in or new tank I use now waterpest and cabomba

Last one I read once that you can't use a heating element can use cause they can die when the water is to hot but I read now that many owners use a heating element so can you use one and wich temperature it has to be?

Thank you and greetings Evaliene
(I will upload a picture from my tank when I'm home)

Thanks for asking these questions! There are articles on Caudata that you need to read thoroughly to learn what is best for your axolotls
http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Ambystoma/A_mexicanum.shtml

The basic rules are...

- no gravel / pebbles / rocks unless they are MUCH bigger than the head!

- NO HEATER axolotls like cool water! Anything over 24degC is stressful & can cause many problems. Unless you like in an igloo you should never need a heater!!

- test the water regularly for ammonia / nitrites / nitrates & clean up any waste poop & uneaten food with a siphon as soon as you see it. Regular water changes with dechlorinated tap water is essential for water health.

Read the section on tank set ups & it will answer questions about filters etc.

Read about treatments for ailments so you know what to do if something ever goes wrong.. You can never be too prepared, so read, learn & enjoy :)
