New tank but the axolotl is too stressed to eat

Hi all, I lately bought my axolotl a new tank since he was getting bigger. On the first day he was willing to eat two small pieces of raw fish but then he kept rejecting the third piece. The second I tried to offer him two different foods, crab meat and then floating ball like foods you get for fish. He wouldn't take them and it's not the first time he ever eat those. I believe he's still stressed from moving to a tanks thats four times larger than his original. What can I do to help him not be so stressed?

Hi HitmanSougo,

I would just give him a few days to settle into his new environment. He may not want to eat at all during this time, this is normal.

Does he have sufficient hides in his new home so he can get away from light and observation? Hides will make him feel secure and safe which will help him settle.

Indeed, as Jacq wrote, you mainly just have to wait for your new pet to settle in. Give him places to hide, keep light off of the tank, and monitor water quality closely.

Thank you guys! Yeah I'm worrying myself silly hehehe but he did eat...only his favorite foods. It's sorta of a pain if you bought a new tank and something happened to my baby (I pray not).
