I decided my 37 gallon tank was way too tall, so I picked up a 30 gallon tank. It is much better suited for my axies. Here it is:

wow, these pics are way worse than I thought...maybe if i take during the day haha

i like it!!! its bare bottom (same as me) but i like the way you cover most of it with the wood.........maybe i should give it a go.

Love the huge bit of wood mate, especially the plants growing on it

I think if you get some moss on it it'll be perfect :)

Yeah, it's hard to see but I've got java moss in there that I'm hoping spreads around.

Thanks for the replies!!

Here's a pic I took with the tank light on and no flash..I think it came out a lot better.

I like the set up!

Don't forget to be extra OCD about testing pH for a while...the tannins seep out of the wood and cause fluxuation. I soaked my wood for months and it still affected my pH after putting it in the tank.

What kind of wood is it?

Yeah, I hate the tannins and am using several methods I've read that help reduce them. It's malaysian driftwood.

That wood is amazing. I want it!:D

I ordered it online. The site I got it from has tons of awesome pieces and provides pictures of each piece they have in stock so you can be exactly sure of what you are getting. I know there an issue of advertising for vendors...but if you'd like to know the place just PM me.

(it's also where I ordered the large java fern from)
