Hi all,

I have had my axie for almost a year, and when I got him/her I was given gravel to use, but soon found out, after about a week that he/she could swallow this, and he/she suffered impaction (of which he/she recovered thank god). I immediately removed the gravel and the tank floor has been barron ever since.

Basically I want to add some new gravel, about 1-2mm in size, as I am thinking of moving the tank from my bedroom to the sitting room to allow visitors to see him/her, so want the gravel to make the tank less empty looking (and to make it less like I just plonked him/her in a tank)

I have added some pics of the gravel I'd like to add (one with pieces on white tissue show individual stone sizes.

Any advice greatfully appreciated

I wouldn´t use it. The size makes it very easily swallowed, and the risk of impaction remains. also, they look like they have rather sharp edges.
If you want a nice looking, no risk substrate, use fine sand. It works great, it dones´t trap dirt, posses no danger of impation, looks natural...
