New plants, do I definitely have to quarantine?

Long time since I've last posted (which is good, I think!) and really just a quick question.

When I first set up Toaster's tank I was gifted a planted log by a friend who'd quarantined it for me and everything's been fine with it, the only problem is that it's now looking a bit weedy and is slowly dying off so I was thinking about getting new plants from our local aquatics centre,

Will I have to quarantine those (they aren't kept with anything alive apart from blasted snails which seems to be unavoidable as far as I'm aware)?

Also, what's the best way to plant them for a bare bottom tank (much, much easier to keep clean and Toaster seems quite happy with it (although with the cold weather he's been awfully sluggish, though still eating and pooping well)

Thanks in advance!

Snails are unavoidable, their eggs are almost undetectable on most plants :(

And if the aquarium store owner is trustworthy, they shouldn't be quarantined. But if there are fish in the plant tanks I'd quarantine them for a bit.

And you can easily attach plants to driftwood, plus driftwood releases tannins into the water that are beneficial to an axie's slime coat and skin :)

It's easy to do and only requires some fishing line.

I would quarantine any plant, regardless of origin.

I usually just thoroughly rinse any new plants with untreated tap water.

As for planting, am fond of small clay pots.
Certainly does not look natural, but it does allow for very easy movement around the tank and ease of cleaning.

Using a pot also allows you to add in plant specific stuff to help it grow.
For example:
I add about 2.5 cm of propagating sand as a base.
Add a thin layer of Laterite
Add a thin layer of crushed marble
Sprinkle some blood and bone
Then cover with 1-2 cm of gravel while planting.
Then add large Axolotl friendly stone to the top of the pot.
