I haven't posted pictures in a while, so ...

This is a close-up of Satchel, (female wildtype). My female golden albino, Connor, is hanging out in the background.

Here's Satchel again with Bucky, my other female wildtype. They seem to know whenever I'm taking pictures so it's somewhat difficult to get pictures of the other two. (For this particular shoot, my leucistic male, Murphy, decided to be MIA.)

Nice colour variations. They look quite mature - have you had them for a while?

It's nice to see them developing well. Hope they keep on rocking!

Thanks Anne-Marie and Pete!

Bucky and Satchel are both a little over a year old. I got them from Ward's Biological Supply last June and I estimated that they were born around April. This winter they both laid eggs after picking up spermatophores from Murphy (the leucistic). I haven't measured them in a while but they're about 7.5-8 inches long. The other two, Connor and Murphy, I've had since about August of last year and would guess to say that they're about the same age, but they're both quite a bit smaller than the wildtypes.

Satchel and Bucky are as lovely as ever. Still hogging the camera too lol

Nice pictures. I wonder how old my golden albino is because she is about 7.5 inches and thats about the size of your adults but still isn't matured (no black finger tips). Maybe shes just going to be HUGE!! lol.

I really like Satchel's lighter colour

Is she really a lot lighter or is it just the camera angle? She looks like a cross between a dark wild type and Anne-Marie's cappuccino coloured axie

Actually, Satchel started out darker than Bucky, and has gotten gradually lighter as she's matured. I think she's the more personable of the two wildtypes. She's super nosey and will watch anyone who comes near the tank. Bucky is larger and is just as nosey, but she's more of the alpha female. (They were named after the characters from the comic "Get Fuzzy" and somewhat have the personalities of the characters they're named after.)

(There are a couple older pictures floating around somewhere on the forum of her, but here are a couple more.)

(Bucky is on top and Satchel is on the bottom.)

(And yes, Murphy does exist! He's underneath Connor.)

Dot, those two wildtypes are Max-olotls, they look huge for being just over a year old. What a gene pool.

Actually, Mike, they'd be mine and Anakin/Hayden's children, because I don't particularly dig evil burn victims with respirators. It's just not the way I roll.

Jerkface.

P.S. - Thanks everyone, for the compliments.

The girls (and boy) are doing well and Satchel has decided that she wants to be dark again. I'm beginning to think that she got lighter in color due to stress. We had a really bad heat wave recently and I was going through two to three frozen bottles every few hours to keep the tank cool. (They're in a breeder tank, so the water gets warmer much quicker.)

All of your axies have such healthy looking gills!! Theyre beautiful!! Kind of an off topic question but my golden albino looks about the exact same color as your golden Connor. But, why are some goldens a much darker yellow than that of ours?

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
