Gorgeous! Congratulations Joost.
They are Cynops pyrrhogaster but i can´t make up my mind about the race hehe.

They come from the Kansai region in Honshu (Mie prefecture).

I don't speak much about races anymore, because there are more forms than races. Even between a race, they can look different.

I hope this is not a really stupid question but why are some Cynops pyrrhogaster so pale? Is it the race or environment, food or age ...?
Mine are almost black. From the pictures on this website Mophological Charactaristic of Cynops pyrrhogaster I'd say most look quite dark (even though you can only see the bellies so maybe I'm wrong).

It's not a stupid question at all. I also wonder why this is. Probably this form is cut off from the rest of the pyrrhogasters somehow.
A friend of mine has 2 couples of pyrrhogaster from fukue island, they also look different from the other forms. See the pics here:

Where can you get these wonders of nature is that I wonder! lol Both races are fantastic!
