Great pics. Your property pics have looked a lot like areas we use to herp between Siloam Springs and Noel. How many acres do you have?

Russ, we have about 830 acres. There is a lot of pasture land as well, but I wish it were all in timber. Probably about 500 acres is in pasture. It is a sad thing to see how much land is being deforested across the country. Growing up in NW texas, I have a difficult time cutting down any tree.

I'm selling my land in NM because the county forest service said I had to thin my trees for defensible fire fighting. More like create work for the local tree trimmers that just happen to be relatives. So much for property rights.

Really though it's amazing at actually how much mature (or maturing) hardwood forest there is in the east now days compared to a century ago. Look at pics of areas from the mid-1800s (civil war pics are a great source) and note the lack of forests in the back ground. Though overall we are loosing ground in general to development. It's really sad in the Ozarks.

Russ, where in N.M. do you have some land. I spent a lot of time in the mountains of N.M. and Colorado. I was raised in the panhandle of Texas, and so we were very close to New Mexico. We still have a cabin in Red river New Mexico, although my folks are about to sell since we so seldom visit there anymore.

Funny you asked. It's in Ruidoso (in the village proper). It went up for sale last Monday and I had a contract that afternoon. I want to find something in CO or MT.
