Hard to tell without picture, but it sounds like a species of Taricha or Paramesotriton. Most likely Taricha Granulosa, Tarichia Torosa, or Parmesotriton Chinesis. Though, not all that common in pet stores here in the U.S. those would be the ones that fit that description, however Torosa is illegal to sell in California.

the ones on the side are the new ones

Quite difficult for me to tell from that pic. Looks like a CFN just like the other one, but I can see the rough texture you're describing.

Look like fire bellied newts to me. Smooth skin = orientalis species.

However, the rough-skinned one would suggest the species is pyrrhogaster or perhaps another.. though it looks very similar to the others so perhaps an orientalis with a skin condition. we would need more photos from more angles to tell.

EDIT: Just seen another post by you... the original animal is definately an orientalis. If the belly and other features of the others is identical they too should be orientalis.

They are all Hypselotriton orientalis. They are also quite poorly. The husbandry is completely inadequate. If you want them to have any chance at all of surviving, you really need to start offering optimal conditions. You can find their caresheet as well as many relevant articles in the links in my signature, plus hundreds of threads discussing their care throughout the forums.

You should also try to fatten them up with earthworms or waxworms, they are dangerously thin.

By the way, the reason why they have different skin textures is that their skin changes when they are adapted to land or water. The rough skin indicates adaptation to land and is a very common response to the terrible conditions they have suffered through. They will only go back to being aquatic if water conditions are optimal.
