Here is a photo I took today of a C.o. newtlet mid hatch, it's a little on the blurry side, but hope you enjoy it.

Here is a photo of a newtlet a few days old resting on a leaf.

That is awesome, and congrats! Just a question though. In the second picture, what is the plant in the upper right corner. I have one, and I would just be interested to learn more about it.

It's lysimachia numularia, a great plant for newts and their eggs. tolerant of cold and bad lighting. The other plants in the picture are the same type as well just lower down the stem. My only complaint is that it sometimes grows out of the water taking eggs with it.

Well there's a small problem, the newtlet in the top picture is still in the same position. To make sure it was alive I poked it. It rithed violently for a minute but was still unable to escape the egg.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
