I recently bought two fire bellied newts from two turtles. The first was rather thin but relatively healthy and was eating by the second day. The second one was very lethargic, not eating and died by day 3. I exchanged him for another but this one was VERY thin. As in you can see all the bones in his poor body. He swims occasionally and seems pretty alert but mostly stays on land. He ate the frozen bloodworms i put in the tank, but i recently changed tanks because the other one was small and the water was not deep. The new one has deeper water and plants artificial and real (by the way is peacock fern ok with newts??) and there is a small island they are both able to get on. He doesn't seem to like to swim often although the other one loves the water so i don't think there is a water issue, but maybe he is just too malnourished to swim in such deep water?? I fed him two and a half small earthworms via tweezers yesterday but today he wants nothing to do with the worms. Is he just stressed or not hungry? i don't want to overfeed him! the water fluctuates between 68-70F and there is no heater. I just don't want another newt to die on me so I'm very worried (
