New Axy Tank.

I got a new axy tank today...it has 1 light bulb in it currenly..(im planning on makeing my own moon light kit thing.) that i may remove if it causes too much stress.
My axy is in the dark aera..where he was been all day, i guess a new tank is quite stressful.

looks nice john. my only concern would be if your not hand feeding him and just droppping it onto the bottom of the tank he might eat some of that gravel :S you can put a plate down that he can eat off. or change to sand or large rocks. i find large rocks annoying to keep clean but sand is great! you can see pretty much every little bit of uneaten food and poops. have you had a look at one of the other posts in this bit. one of the people have pics of their moon light setup, looks cool!
 
I have never had a problem with her eating gravel... I stick the food on a stick and lower it down. I do want to switch to sand though.

That's a nice big tank John. Also, even if you feed them on a stick they may still eat the gravel. My advice would be to switch to sand.
 
hey john, nice set up... wat are the dimension on that tank and how much would i expect to pay 4 one of them for?
 
sorry to say that, but i dont like the setup, i think it looks like u just wanted a axolotl and didnt have anything else for it..

buy some plants and stuff it would help. !

    Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
