I am proud to say that my axolotls from A 'Lotl Axolotls have arrived, yesterday, was too excited AND busy(LOL) all day yesterday, so I couldn't update anyone, they are quite small still, so they can't stay in my 40 gallon with my 3-4 inch wild type, since they're 2 inches or so still! I did an unboxing video for some sort of review, even though that quality of the video in general is pretty bad, you can take a look at it here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1bzSab4934 . They're currently in a 30 gallon tank, which I will include pictures( not that great quality ) of every one of them and their tank setups, and a couple of my other axolotl that I got from Big Al's on Friday, which wasn't expected to get, I just couldn't resist the urge to get him, HE WAS TOO CUTE! Both of the tanks are currently cycling, although the 40 is a bit further along. With both tanks, I'm conduction 50% water changes daily, to keep the ammonia down, and will be doing the same thing to keep the nitrites down when they start spiking, and I'm dosing both tanks with Prime, to keep the animals safe while in the tank. Which brings me to another point, there's such a bad look on fish-in cycling, but if it's done right, it's perfectly fine and there shouldn't be any damage to the fish, if you're dosing with the proper amount of Prime for your tank, your fish(or amphibians) are going to be fine and aren't going to be affected by the higher levels of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, although this doesn't mean you can only dose with Prime and just let the water changes not happen, if your water has more than 0.25 ammonia in it, which both of my tanks had, do 50% water changes daily to make the levels drop, ALTHOUGH, there's about 0.5 ppm ammonia just in my tap water, so you need to detoxify and dechlorinate that as well. LOL I WENT ON SUCH A RANT THERE.
Needless to say, the breeder I bought from is awesome, and has GREAT customer service, and is the MOST affordable axolotl breeder I know! If you're in Canada, especially in the Ontario area, I highly recommend that you look at their prices and their website, here are some links to those things.A 'Lotl Axolotls ____________________________________ Axolotl for sale AxolotlForSale.com Canada Cheap Ontario Shipping Low cost Axolotl Pellets Brine shrimp - Home Page is their website and https://www.facebook.com/ALotlAxolotls is their Facebook page definitely take some time to look at those links if you're looking to buy some axolotls and are in Canada!
