Hello everyone,
I've recently purchased a golen axolotl from a previous owner. I was supplied with a 10 gallon tank, shrimp pellets, and water conditioner. I've done research on them before and was a little surprised when he told me that only feed him twice a week. When the tank felt warm he'd toss ice. Also that he was pretty low maintenance. He said he had purchased him from a reptile convention in Arlington, Tx. He came with a dark color tank mate that died a month later. The little guy was also purchased with a missing limb and short gills. The owner has had him for about a year and the limb hasn't grown back. He says his gills have grown since the convention but they look extremely short to me. Kinda looks malnourished. His front hand looks to be twisted back and one of his back legs looks like it attempted to grow another leg. I still line the little guy, he goes by Perry (Peryite). I coughed up the money to get him a water chiller since my apartment gets pretty hot, I play video games really often and I live in Texas. I'd like some input on how to help him regenerate his gills and limb. Does he look malnourished? Does he have a bit of fungus?
Thank you!
