i will just point out to you though, the substarate he is on is likely to cause problems as all the gunk will get trapped under it, you will have to keep a close eye on his water parameters to make sure things are ok.
a word of advice would be to remove it and either have nothing on the floor or sand.
you will get plenty of advice on here to helpmaintain a healthy home for him.
