Not a great photo, I know...
This one turned up in a tank I grow plants in- looks like an italicus egg ended up in there by accident. It's a sexually mature female, at one year of age- it produced a small number of (infertile) eggs a few weeks ago.
From my previous experience with neotenous & overwintering newts, I wouldn't be surprised if the stress of moving & photographing it causes it to metamorphose.
