NEED INFO ON RAISING NEWTS AQUATIC

can someone point me in the right direction on how to raise firebellly newts aquatically? I notice my newts want to leave the water but people have said its easier to raise them in water. I have a bunch of java moss in the tank i just want to make sure i'm doing the right thing by not letting them go terrestrial.

Hi,

I have some fireballs, they started as aquatic but were constantly leaving the water. After checking that the water is clean I figured out that the filtration was a little aggressive. I switched to a canister with rain function and they started liking the water more. They did not like currents.

Also, I left little islands for them, they like going up, walking over the island and returning to the water, sort of a little game.
