Need ideas for feeding!

Im setting up a new tank which is going to be very full of plants etc for hiding. and i want it to be simple to see if my little guy(s) (soon to be another 2) are eating or not. So im wondering how people place feeding jars? i had an old peanut butter feeding jar i placed into the bottom of the tank and my litle guy ate out of that occassionally. .. is there any other sort of feeding jars which are simple ? or anyone have any ideas?

Also how do i tell if my axie is a girl or boy ? ive asked this question before, but i dont want to have males and females so they breed... the last thing i want is axie babies! although i know that may likely happen as apparently axies can change their sex? if you could look at some of my pics ... of my golden axie "bruce" hopefully you get some sort of an idea .... he is probably a she!

I think your idea for a feeding jar is about as simple as you can get. I have no idea how you would make it easier (or more complicated, for that matter).

As for sexing, if you post a picture of your axolotl from the top, and from the side so you can see the cloaca, we'll be able to make guesses. Some axolotls are hard to sex, and some don't come into maturity until they're ~18 months old, so don't be disappointed if you don't get definitive answers.

Axolotls cannot change their sex. I don't know where you heard that, but it's 100% not true.


Edit: I just looked at your pictures. Bruce looks a bit young to sex yet, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say male. I wouldn't sweat the name; they don't come when called anyway

PS: I have a female cat named Al, a female salamander named Mario, and a male snake named Peach. They don't seem to mind at all.

I like to use a mason jar as a feeding jar. No messy, yet tasty, peanut butter to clean out of it.

Haha, Yes i know axies don't come when called in a few weeks time when the new tank has cycled ill post some recent pics of different views and get some ideas on what sex he is so i can get the same sex so i dont end up with little axies ... do you know if they breed easily ? incase i end up with different sexes
