I need to know what the C.O.'s Toxins do to other animals.

I have some friends that put 3 FBNs in their feeder guppy tank, the guppies are food for a couple of local garter snakes.. Since the newts, one garter has died..Had a broken jaw.. The second snake was seen spitting out the guppy and then rubbing its face wildly as if it was sick.. It too looks as if it will die soon.

I am thinking that the newt toxin has something to do with this.. But do not understand why, or how..

These are OREGON garter snakes which are immune to the toxins of Rough skin newt(which is very toxic)..

Any Ideas?? Is there any scientific document that I can find on this subject??

Thanks in advance,

Billie

Well, the newts are probably producing their poisen into the water because the guppies are picking on the newts, the only fish I know that gets along with newts(and has never had a problem) is the white clouds. Aslo, yes, the garter snakes are immune to the tarichas, poisen, it dosen't mean that they will be immune to all poisen.. Get it? That's just my 2 cents..
