I have been slacking off a little lately. I have been feeding two of my N. Viridescens only frozen bloodwoms for the past couple weeks. It's the only thing they will accept! They hate tweezer feeding and they don't care much for earthworms. I am getting quite worried!

~ Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try blackworms. They're the size of bloodworms, live, wiggly, and aquatic (so they won't die and foul the water). They're also closely related to earthworms, so they have similar nutritional value. Do your notos eat pellets?

Try small feeder guppies from your local pet shop. My two males would stalk them all day long and if they don't catch them they breed readily in your tank. Creating plenty of free food.

No, they don't like pellets. I have given up on blackworms, because the pet shop that had them closed down. I don't like buying live things online very much, either. What about frozen blackworms? I know that my Notos love blackworms...

Hello, my Notophthalmus viridescens best accepted food is mosquito larvae live or frozen. Chopped small and Eisenia foetida, they cost more to accept, but the newts have 4 or 5 days without eating, well accepted.
A greeting.
