I hope they're a male and female!

Picture quality could be better, but there's not much natural light available atm. Only one of the two has those nice black spots on the tail. The female of the two also looks nicely plump around the waste.

Its amazing that such beautiful newts can have such an ungraceful looking amplexus. Does the male develop nuptual padding on the hind legs? Or is that brute strength and determination.

Congratulations Ester. Have you only found one?

the first day I found 4 eggs, one of which turned bad the next day. The 2nd day she didn't lay any eggs but today (3rd day) I see a few more in the plants. I hope she'll lay plenty but I don't mind if she spreads em out.

For a while the female took her time to deposit eggs. One - three per week at most. Today she laid 5 eggs
