If you got threw all those, congratulations, lol. Ok, I will do updates, but how often? Twice a month? I love the big black spots on these guys!

Great pictures:happy:

Nice pics!

I like the coloration of the ones you have up there! All of the louisianensis juveniles I've found down here are dark brown with slightly darker brown spots.

I think mine have a lighter coloration because of the lack of carotenes in thier diet. As larvae they fed almost exclusively on whiteworms. Now they eat thawed frozen bloodworms and chopped earthworms from a cabob stick as well as the whiteworms in thier cage.

Here is a weekly update. Not much change but I decided to post some more pics anyways. The last aquatic morph went terrestrial last night. I checked up on it right before bed and he was scaling the glass! They are all around 2 inches give or take now.

The recent morph:

This one got misted:

One of the darker ones:

Great pictures. They look very healthy. On a side note those pics of your hands holding the morphs are so detailed you could probably create a fingerprint profile from them! I wish my camera could create, or more accurately, I could create such detailed photos.

A quick update: I moved them all into a ten gallon tank. They are all near to slightly over 2 inches now. That may not seem like much but they morphed out at 1-1.5 inches. You can see that they vary in color now a little.

Muddy Eft:

Lucky guy...;) Those look amazing.. Dart spots in light pattern is really gourgeous.

Good luck with those mate!
Post some more updates (with loads of pics:D)
cheers,
Eljorgo

Thanks. I will post more pics later. They havent changed a whole lot in 2 weeks though.

Hehe doesn´t matter! Just want to see those little funny guys!:D

Here are some more pics.

Here is my favorite pic so far. I took out the water dish because no one ever used it and it some how leaked out water into the rest of the soil and saturated it. They like the sand that replaced it. I poked fake plants in it for cover.

Here is another update on the n.v.l.'s. They are doing well and becoming more outgoing when it comes to feeding time. I abosolutely love these little guys.

This is the largest and is the closest to adult coloration:

A quick update. Seven of the eight are growing well and becoming much more robust. Those seven eat chopped worms, whole whiteworms, and whole thawed bloodworms. The other one only eats whiteworms and occasionally bloodworms. Anyways here are a couple new pics:

Ok, for the mods and admins, why are some of my older pics tiny and non-viewable? I uploaded them directly to caudata.org. If I deleted them, would that happen? That may have happened.

Hey, I'm not a mod, but I can see all of the photos in this thread just fine. Perhaps it has something to do with your web-browser?

Your efts look great! How do you go about feeding them thawed bloodworms? My trio of N.v.v. just laid their first eggs a few days ago and my mind is really running on future care. I suppose i should probably wait and see if they are fertile before I get too ahead of myself here. Love the pictures, nice to see the little guys growing up.

Hey everyone. Its been a while since I updated this thread. I just redid thier tank to make it more semi-aquatic. One of the eight has taken to the water very readily and spends most of its time there. It is odd that it is the smallest of the group. Here are a couple pics of them and thier new setup. Its a 10 gallon tank.

I wish mine would take to the water so easily! They seem content right now to completely avoid it at all costs.

How old are your efts, caudatadude?

Only one has taken to the water well. A couple sometimes float on the water. I posed them on the water's edge for the pic. Mine are one year old now and 1.5-2.3inches. I have blackworms, whiteworms, and tadpoles in the water to tempt them in. The tadpoles are extremely small. I want to get some daphnia, cyclops as well.

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
