I thought I would try out the "new" camera, after dropping my old one in the ocean. (Dropping electronics in salt water is fun!)

Not to worry, the two species are not in the same tank.

I've found it very difficult to focus on the eye of N. strauchii (very similar problem with C. orientalis). The black on black confuses my camera.

Lastly, not the best picture, but a pretty good representation of how silly these guys are.

Those are two of the most beautiful newt species out there. Great pictures and great newts!

Really nice Pin-pin. The Neurergus are stunning. I must get my marms aquatic next year... Is salt water more fun than other liquids? I've only ever tried coffee and that was quite fun

If caudata.org makes a calendar, I think photo number 5 should be in it!!
Lovely photos Pin-Pin Wei!

Thanks! They are really interactive and interesting.

Here's one more showing how I feed them. (Yes they can indeed get a pretty large piece into their mouth.)

errr...but how do you feed them? Please explain

Great photos of some very nice looking newts. Think you will get any breeding this year?

That's a cut up nightcrawler attached to the end of a wire in the picture above.

The action photo of that little guy eating the worm didn't work out so well.

Thank you guys, but this is a very old thread.

I miss them terribly and hope they are having a good time at Dave's lovely place. ;)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
