Almost 2 months ago, the little axolotls hatched from the first eggs my Copper axolotl laid! And one of them is very special ^^

I'll sure do! He will stay with me for about two months, in august he'll be moving to his new home ^^ Maybe the new owner will be interested to post some pics here as well...

Here is a picture when he/she just hatched

Wish you were close to me.
I'd have snapped that one up in a second! :D

Your lotls must be special if you don't want to keep this unique configuration
- I couldn't part with that special one.
But that's just me - I'm such a sucker

Very nice! Thanks for posting and please take some photos and show them here just before it leaves in August.

Regards Neil

@ Nikki: I have 4 axolotls and I have room for five... But I'll be moving out my parent's house and I have to find new homes for them :( I'd love to keep them, but I won't have the space for a big aquarium and the money to care for them properly... That's why this one will be going (with a few others) to a friend of mine

@ Neil C: No problem! I'll ask my friend if he wants to continue posting pictures ;)

Does your friend have the ability to care for them? Coz I don't live too far from you, and I wouldn't mind taking some off your hands xD

(heb ik ook al op die Nederlandse site gezet :p)

Yes, he has the ability to take care for them ;) The axolotls will be very happy in the 160 x 60 x 60 (cm) tank he is making for them!

Wonderful :)

Still, if there's any coppers among the babies, I call dibs :D:D (if I can, lol)

Well, I'm afraid there aren't :( There are a few less dark wildtypes... But more than that...

I wish I had a chimera! But my axies won't even lay eggs...

So far my axies haven't bred, my poor Derpy (so far the only male) keeps getting rejected... poor lil' bugger :p

Lol, pretty much the same thing over here

This wonderfull little one is going to be living with me :)
offcourse I'll keep posting photo's ;)

It's a blurry picture, but look at those cute little back legs!

His toes are beginning to show and he's starting to use his back legs!

Your Chimera is growing very well. What was the father of this youngster as it looks like half copper/wildtype and half leucistic?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
