My Tiger Salamander won't eat!!!!

I have two Tiger Salamanders that I had together in a 20 gallon semi aquatic tank. The one Salamander stopped eating for almost 3 months. I then called the pet store where I bought him and they told me that the one was stressing out the other one. I then seperated them. I waited one day and feed the one that wasn't eating and he ATE! Now its going on another month and he refuses to eat again. I have him in a ten gallon tank with about 4 inches of moist soil and a shallow dish of water, with some fake plants laying around too. I left crickets in there for about a week to see if he ate them on his own, but he didn't. I feed my other salamander by hand. What should I try and feed him, or could something be wrong with him? Also do I need the water dish inside?

Strictly speaking, you don't need the water dish, but it's a good safeguard against the tank accidentally getting too dry. You might try tempting the sal with wiggling pieces of worm. Be sure they both have plenty of hiding places and a substrate that they can dig in.

My Tiger Salamander has not eaten properly for nearly 6 months now. I have tempted it with Earthworms, Blood worms, woodlice and lambs liver. It has eaten a few Earthworms, but now it wont eat at all, and because of this it has become very thin.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I can give it to eat or is it possible to force feed it. Any help would be appreciated.
